Detox

Incorporated into each of our Residential Primary care programs

Residential Primary
Average stay 30 days, may stay up to 90 days
Residential Transitional/Partial Day Treatment (PDT)
Following Primary Care episode, internally or from another Primary Care facility.
Includes an intensive day program with residential sleepover.  Average stay 30 days (generally days 31-60)
Residential Extended/ Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Following Transitional, internally or from another Primary Care or Transitional facility
IOP Average stay 30 days (generally days 61-90)
Extended Care stays can be 30-120 days

Outpatient Services

As an integral part of LaPaloma's comprehensive care for persons with co-occurring conditions, a wide array of outpatient services are available, as shown below. These programs address a variety of needs including situational stressors, family and spousal relationships, interpersonal relationships, mental health and addiction, life span issues, domestic violence, and trauma.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)
This highly effective program offers intensive and integrated treatment to clients based upon their specific needs. Therapy services include psycho education, addictions treatment, relapse prevention, and coping strategies. Cognitive therapy and motivational interviewing practices are combined with a twelve-step dual recovery intervention. Staff is trained to provide treatment according to the client's readiness to change. Clients receiving IOP attend 3 or more hours a day, 3 or more days a week.
Case Management
Case Management services are designed to help the client live as independently as possible according to his or her goals and preferences. Our skilled case managers help individuals access community resources, housing, and entitlement benefits and well as securing appointments and services (including medication monitoring and treatment), and offering supportive counseling and crisis intervention. Case managers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 
Partial Hospitalization
LaPaloma offers the partial hospitalization program to provide intense therapy in a structured environment for any adult with co-occurring conditions. The program is designed for those who experience an increase in the severity of symptoms, and disturbances in behavior or other conditions that have a negative impact on the person's health. This program provides an alternative to a long-term stay in a hospital setting. Instead, the partial hospitalization program provides an extensive daytime treatment that allows the client to return home and maintain a comfortable lifestyle. Treatment is tailored to the unique needs of each individual.
Group and Individual Therapy
These intensive therapy services are available for individuals in a one-on-one setting between the client and the therapist, or as part of a small group. An experiential approach is an essential aspect of the therapeutic process.
Family Therapy
Recognizing the importance and necessity of family involvement, family therapy is integrated into the treatment program. This service includes helping family members and other support people understand co-occurring conditions and how to support dual recovery.
Medication Management
For the person with mental illness and addiction, taking medications can be one of the most important aspects of recovery. Medication management services will ensure that the client is taking the most current and effective medications for treating both conditions, as well as improving the quality of life by managing mental health symptoms and mitigating cravings.
Aftercare
Aftercare services promote a healthy reintegration into the community, help the client maintain dual recovery, and provide an ongoing healthy support system.

LaPaloma offers innovative, full-service, and premier integrated residential treatment options that serve the needs of persons with co-occurring conditions. With the easy admission process, the length of treatment is tailored to each person's needs depending on the types of illnesses, overall condition, life skills needed, court requirements, and personal goals.

Inpatient/Residential Treatment (Primary Care)

An intense safe, sober, and supportive multi-level integrated treatment environment that breaks the cycle of hospitalizations, incarceration, and addiction and mental illness and matches the intensity of residential treatment to the needs of the individual. 24/7 staffed nursing, boarded psychiatry addiction, full-time nurse practitioner.  7-day programming.

Outpatient Services, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospital

An integrated continuum of outpatient services where all staff are trained to incorporate best practices from both mental health and substance abuse fields.

Private Care Management

Lapaloma's “Recovery Assistance Program” is a 12-month post-discharge monitoring and sobriety supporting private case management service.  Enhancing access to community resources and offering help needed during a crisis or need for support – anytime, anyplace. This includes a specialized community treatment team for people with co-occurring conditions who have intensive service use histories.

Medication Treatment

Offering the most current and effective pharmacology to treat both disorders, improving quality of life by managing mental health symptoms and mitigating cravings.  24/7 nursing staff administer medications, not just observe or monitor. 

Collateral Therapies

Helping family and other support systems understand dual disorders and how to support dual recovery with Intensive Family Weekends twice monthly.

Aftercare Treatment

Promoting healthy community reintegration that maintains dual recovery and providing an ongoing healthy support system.

Specialty Groups

Trauma Program utilizing EMDR in both Residential and Partial Hospital.  Other specialties include Sprituality and Recovery, as well as developing healthy living skills tailored to the special needs of specific individuals, such as people who have been victims of sexual abuse, battered women, people who are reentering the community from jails or prisons, hospitals and others. Strong use of Cognitive/Behavioral modality.  Learning alternative leisure skills is also incorporated with Certified Recreation Specialists and outings.

Dual Recovery Self Help and other 12-step recovery

A dually focused 12-step recovery program that teaches the steps and traditions of recovery with emphasis on both conditions. Not judging, simply supporting. In-house meetings and community meetings.  Other in-house and community meetings are incorporated (such as AA and NA) so that each person can find their unique program.

24 hour Crisis Line

National Call Center, staffed 24/7 for crisis support, resource and linkage services ()

Outcome Evaluation

Measuring our effectiveness, from satisfaction of our customers to the long range benefits of the services we provide. This includes ongoing long-term evaluation of all individuals who been admitted to any of our treatment programs.

Technical Assistance Resource

Educating and advocating, through publication of the only national journal on co-occurrence (The Dual Network), a website of links and resources at www.dualdiagnosis.org, and a clearinghouse of state and federal information on best practices and available programs.

National Training

Promoting application of evidence based practices through bringing nationally recognized experts in co-occurrence treatment and research to providers all across the country.
